A view of the Grand Canyon Skywalk!

Dear friends,
These last few days, I have been exploring the amazing Grand Canyon! It is located in the State of Arizona, in the United States of America. Did you know it is 277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide? Huge, isn’t it? An old lady there told me it was 1 mile all the way down and even lower in some places. That would be a long way to fall! To get to the bottom, you have to either take a hike or ride a mule down. I went with the mules, because I don’t like hiking. I made a friend there named George who is a mule. As the

others and I went down the steep gorge, we saw over 34 animals, like Bighorn sheep, Mule deer, mountain lions, bobcats and coyotes. It was great seeing all these animals, but I almost got trampled by a HUGE bison! Just kidding, there are no bison in the Grand Canyon! The deer were very hard to get close to, since they were scared of us. I found a baby Mule deer, and I was going to invite him to come to the river with us, but the guide told us that if he had our scent on him, the mama wouldn't take him back. I felt bad for the little deer, but I had to leave him there
.

Then we reached Phantom Ranch, but it is actually a lodge, so you could call it

the Phantom Ranch Lodge...
Phantom Lodge if you wanted to. We stayed there that night, and enjoyed a swim in the nearby creek and amazing home-cooked meals. They were SO GOOD, I could have eaten the whole kitchen! Haha. Just kidding, but it was good. In the morning we ate a big breakfast, and headed out again with our mules. When reached the canyon floor, we took a long hike by the river, and guess who was waiting there for us? A river raft guy, and he was called Billy. Billy took us "white river rafting". I don't know why they call it "white river", since it 'is' the Colorado River. It was so much fun, that we went 5 times! Just kidding, we only went down the river once. After another long mule ride, we reached the top again, but not at the same place. After we put our mules away, we went to a big viewing platform...with a glass floor! It was scary at first, but then it was as normal as walking on any other surface. It curved out in a big arc over the cliff, and
it was so high. It is called the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
Then we took the railroad back to the main base. I said goodbye to all my new friends (like George) and headed back home. Oh, guess what I found out? George is my cousin's uncle's brother's son! So, George and I are family. Well, thanks for reading about my adventure to the Grand Canyon. I have to go, bye!

Love,

Tango, your beloved little horse :)
